I was out thrifting yesterday and found this incredible set of sugar and creamer. I did some research and found that a company called David Douglas produced glass items such as carafes with the same pattern, aqua and gold pinecones. However, I could not find an identical sugar & creamer set. Furthermore, I am puzzled by the fact that the only marking at the bottom is a stylized L in a circle, like a handwritten L, which leads me to think they might be from a different manufacturer perhaps?

If anyone knows anything about this sugar and creamer set, please do share your wisdom with me. Regardless, I think it's an awesome set and I can already see it on a Thanksgiving tablescape, with my Pyrex gold acorn dish and perhaps a butterprint Pyrex!
Well I am no help, but I can say they are a amazing looking pair!

I can't help, but I just bought 5 tumblers at a sale that look like they could be part of the set (they have turquoise & metallic gold starbursts that look similar). I haven't posted a picture yet, but will do so in the next 2 or 3 days. Check my blog at http://kitschy-vintage.blogspot.com over the next week if you want to see them. LOVE the cream & sugar!
ReplyDeleteNot sure...actually it might be a guess, but the L might stand for Libbey Glass. The shape looks familiar.
ReplyDeleteCheck out the internet for the Libbey glass markings to see if your L matches. Good Luck!
They are gorgeous, sorry I can't help but I hope you find out. REALLY pretty!!
ReplyDeletethey are really pretty - and different.
ReplyDeleteOoooooo--I have the coffee pot! I had no idea this was a pattern. What a great set it makes. Unfortunately, I have no idea who made it. And I just noticed that I have another sugar and creamer set (in fact, I have three of them!) that must've had those metal holders. They're in a pink & gold floral pattern and I DO have the coffee pot for them. I'm going to post about this RIGHT NOW!
ReplyDeleteNo help but they're beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI saw these very ones this weekend too - they are so cute - I think there might have been an ice bucket and a larger bowl there as well...
